Nekateri ljudje pogosto pozabljajo svoje ključe, nekateri denarice, spet drugi mobitele ali dežnike. Sama za razliko od omenjenih tipov pozabljam vse od naštetega. A očitno so mi ironične kozmične sile ponudile vsaj en relativno zabaven način, kako lahko vsakodnevno preprečim takšne in drugačne katastrofe – pogled na stopnice v našem bloku! Moji vsakodnevni odhodi od doma izgledajo namreč nekako takole: oblečem plašč, obujem čevlje, pograbim torbico, stopim čez vrata, zaklenem, se spustim po prvih petih stopnicah in čudežno me prešine misel, da sem pozabila telefon – oddirjam nazaj, odklenem, premečem celo stanovanje, najdem mobitel, stopim čez vrata, zaklenem, se spustim po prvih osmih stopnicah in ugotovim, da sem pozabila tudi na ključe od avta – oddirjam nazaj, odklenem … mislim, da se vam že svita, kako se zgodba utegne nadaljevati. Saj ne da, nisem hvaležna vsem skrbnim silam za njihovo dobroto, morda je le tajming včasih malce neroden. No, ampak se mi pa vsaj le redko zgodi, da dokončno oddidem od doma brez določenih ključnih stvari, le trajat zna. Saj veste tisto ‘kdor nima v glavi, ima v petah’ Jaz sem živi dokaz.

Some people keep  forgetting their keys, wallets, mobile phones or umbrellas. Me for example, I keep forgetting all of the above. But apparently some ironic cosmic forces are taking care of me and they thought of a very amusing way of preventing me from regular catastrophes  – a view over the staircase in my apartment block! My everyday’s preparations to leave home look something like this: i take my coat, put on my shoes, grab my bag, walk through the door, lock the door, take the first five steps and all of the sudden it hits me i forgot about my mobile phone – i rush back, unlock the door, search frantically for the mobile, find it, walk through the door, lock the door, take the first eight steps and then i remember i forgot to take the car keys – i rush back, unlock the door … you get the picture. It’s not that I’m not grateful to the allmighty cosmic force, maybe there’s just something a bit off with the timing. But after all i can say with great joy that i hardly ever leave home without the essential stuff, it just takes some time. We have a saying here in Slovenia about that. It goes something like ‘those who don’t keep it in their heads, catch up with their legs’. And I’m living proof.

V petek se je na police trafik prikradla še druga številka Delaindom+, v kateri smo sodelovale blogerke. /bragging mode on/ Tokrat si ne morem pomagati, da se ne bi pohvalila tudi z naslovnico … /bragging mode off/ Rubrika ‘Naredite si leto sami’ je izpadla super, ob prebiranju vseh DIY projektičev some prav zares zasrbeli prsti, mislim, da se bom v prihajajočem letu  lotila prav vseh!

Grganja is an amazing new champagne made by Bizjak family in Goriška Brda. I contributed the design for stickers and they say the bottles sell pretty fast over Italian border :) this is definitely not the end of our collaboration.
ps. whenever i drink champagne i remember this scene from the movie The Fisher King when Robin Williams makes a small champagne wire chair for his Lydia. love it!

se še spomnite, kako sem par tednov nazaj jamrala o tem, kako sem pribit za računalnikom? no, včeraj je končno izšla knjiga, ki me je zaposlovala nekaj tednov. poleg oblikovanja in preloma me nanjo veže tudi moja prvotna stroka, ki ji očitno ne morem kar tako ubežati ;) zadevi smo tudi že primerno nazdravili, zdaj pa me napadajo že novi znanilci zabubljenosti pred ekranom …

remember how i was complaining about  working all the time a couple of weeks ago? well the main reason for this was a book design i was working on and the book is finally published. it’s about trees in the urban environment – apparently it’s hard for me to escape from landscape architecture :) we already gave it a proper toasting and now my mind is already set on new upcoming projects …

V petek smo ob finem vinčku, še boljši torti in ob zabavnih ritmih fenomenalnih Xequtifz v Ajdovščini  skupaj otvorili novo staro restavracijo z lounge barom Dama. Dama se je preselila na novo lokacijo, kjer je pod pod budnim očesom Nine Selan in Vida de Glerie dobila bleščečo moderno preobleko. Torej, če vas pot kdaj zanese v deželo burje, vsi na kosilo v Damo – mislim, da se dobrotam mojstrice Jade preprosto ne da upreti!

From now on there is no doubt where to go if you are hungry in Ajdovščina. A brand new restaurant and lounge bar Dama opened it’s door this weekend. We had a blast – the Xequtifz gave their best and the place was magical (the interior was designed by a young but very creative couple Nina Selan in Vid de Gleria). And if i tell you that the food menu in Dama is being supervised by chef Jade , you really have no exuses not to come any more!

Tam daleč za devetimi gorami (no, ja za desetimi bloki), za devetimi vodami (khm, za devetimi cevmi iz toplarne) in za devetimi poljanami (…. če smo natančni pa v Mostah) stoji Vila Mojmir. Skoraj kot v pravljici – zdi se, kot da se je v njej ustavil čas. Nikakor mi ne gre iz glave, kako zabavno je bilo tam včerajšnje druženje s Klaro in Klemenom in kako fenomenalno je pravzaprav njuno handmade stanovanje. Ne vem, ali gre za to kriviti njun nadslasten brunch ali starinsko omaro z orodnjem na hodniku, morebiti retro moto čelado na polici, Klarin kotiček za šivanje, zna biti, da imajo prste vmes tudi super plakati na stenah, rexi v jedilnici, batmobil ali pa katera od črno pobarvanih vrat …
Zato pa zdaj vsi hitro oddajte svoj glas za njun predlog nove eko embalaže za Mercator. Držim pesti!!

In a land far, far away (ok, in reality it’s hidden behind the heating plant in Ljubljana) stands a house called Vila Mojmir. But it really does feel like in a fairytale, like time stood still there. I can’t seem to forget how great my day was hanging out with Klara and Klemen who live there in their perfect not so little handmade appartment. Maybe it was the tasty bruch they made or the old wooden tool cabinet in the hall, perhaps the retro motor helmet on the shelf, Klara’s sewing corner, all the great posters on the walls, rex chairs in the dining area, batmobile or all the black doors in there …
So now please, vote for their proposal for Mercator eco packaging. I keep my fingers crossed!

z izjemo huronskega navala smeha v Cvetličarni prejšnji teden (khm … mimogrede, kdo se še spomni 90ih) v časovnem stroju na deejay time žuru in kratkega pobega na Vremščico sem popolnoma pribita za računalnikom. uradno mam slabo vest, ker se zadnje čase tako poredko družim s svojim blogom. ampak takšna je pač jesen …

if i don’t count my hilarious time machine deejay time party last week (by the way, remember this?) in Cvetličarna club and a quick climb on Vremščica it’s been nothing but work work work for me lately. i officially feel guilty now for not posting more on my blog. but that’s just fall i guess …

a ni fino, kako se včasih iz najslabših situacij v življenju razvije nekaj finega? vse se je začelo nekega zelo bednega popoldneva, polnega slabih novic in jeze. med telefonskim pogovorom sem slučajno začela drezati v nič hudega sluteč vzidan podboj med predsobo in kuhinjo, ki mi je šel na živce že od nekdaj. podboj se je začel premikati, jeza pa je prihajala na plan. po treh dneh žaganja, tolčenja, lomljenja, mešanja hobby kita, glajenja, barvanja in švicanja so me vsi slabi občutki dokončno zapustili, ostal pa je le svež pogled na prenovljen prostor s čistim zaključenim zidom brez podboja. za piko je poskrbel še nov obešalnik za plašče in svet je spet lep!

isn’t it amazing how sometimes the worst situations in life turn into something great? it was one of those days full of bad news and i could just the feel anger piling up inside me. i was talking on the phone and looking at this doorframe between the kitchen and the hall, which was really bothering me for a while. suddenly i started to poke it and as i was hitting it harder and harder the doorframe started to move and the anger was released. after three days of cutting, sawing, pounding, breaking, mixing wall putty, sanding, painting and sweating all the bad feelings went away. all there was left was a fresh sight of a refurbished space with a clean wall and no doorframe. a new coat rack rounded up the story and the world is wonderful again!

moja se že sama od sebe odpre na strani 14. priznam – ne morem nehat špegat. malo zaradi veselja ob objavi, malo zaradi nenavadnega občutka ob gledanju same sebe in malo zato, ker vsakič znova opazim vse napake in si mislim, kaj bi lahko bilo boljše. vsekakor se bomo trudile še naprej – nadaljevanje sledi čez dober mesec :)

No.3 also came up in another version of makeover by a great designer Mina Fina for the recent auction in Bikofe bar. Of course i managed to miss the whole thing and now i’m really sorry … So, Bikofe – please do another one, i promise i’ll come!

točno pred enim tednom so kaktusi v  tivolskemu rastlinjaku dobili novo glasno družbo. namesto običajnih mirnih obiskovalcev se je med njimi znašlo pet blogerskih deklin (1, 2, 3, 4 in moja malenkost), ravno toliko – ali pa še kakšen več – fotoaparatov, cel kup oh in sploh luštnih cunj in polni pladnji najodličnejšejših cupcakeov. tole naj bo le manjši teaser, kaj več o celi zadevi pa oktobra v trafikah!

exactly a weak ago something exciting happend at the tivoli greenhouse in ljubljana. instead of the usual visitors five blogging ladies (1, 2, 3, 4 and myself) filled up the space with cameras, pretty clothes and a lot of delicious cupcakes. this is just a small teaser, the rest will follow in october – both here and on the local newsstands!

tudi retro številka 3 je dobila epilog. če se je še kdo namenil prenoviti tele stole, ki jih je pred časom ponujal gospod Tomaž, naj vas opozorim, da so me v tapetništvu okregali, ker sem za pretapeciranje s seboj prinesla neraztegljivo platneno blago. pri tovrstnih zahtevnejših modelih naj bi se namreč uporabljal malce raztegljiv tekstil, ker je potem delo precej lažje, izdelek pa posledično lepši in bolj natančno izdelan. no, vseeno so se moji mojstri potrudili in trojka izgleda super. hvala!

and finally – even my retro chair number 3 is finished. it turned out super chic despite the fact, that the re-upholstering wasn’t done with elastic fabric, which apparently is the way to go with these kind of chairs. a big thank you goes out to my upholstering company, who always seems to find a solution!

predstavljam še četrtega v vrsti rešenih stolov, ki je v družbi ‘šmirgel’ papirja, sveže barve in novega blaga za sedalo postal moj poletni projektič. no, pravzaprav gre za dva enaka primerka, ki zaenkrat še iščeta mesto v stanovanju. ampak, ker smo že ugotovili, da finih stolov ni nikoli preveč, se bo mesto že našlo!

this is my latest old chair makeover project, which i was working on this summer. i actually refurbished two of them so i have a happy yellow pair now. they don’t have a spot in my apartment yet, but since we already found out that there could never be enough of old chairs, i think they won’t have to wait long!

v deželi, kjer je najljepša rwoža bwor, se je že začelo obdobje jelenjega ruka. nočni obiski gozda in mogočni zvoki oglašanja jelenov me vedno navdajajo z nadvušenjem in strahom obenem.

rutting season for red deer has started around here. it’s always exciting and a quite scarry to visit the woods at night and listen to the mighty roaring sound of the stags.

no, zdej pa končno tud foto poročilo o veleprenovi kopalnice. vse sem mela sproti poslikano, ampak na koncu, ko je blo že vse končano, je pa tehnika zatajila (joj, obljubim, da bom pa zdej res nehala težit s fotičem …)! anywho to je to. res sem se načakala ampak zdej je pa top!

i finally managed to put together this photo story about my bathroom renovation. i waited sooo long for it to happen and at the end i couldn’t take pictures of it because of my camera breakdown (ok, i promise i’ll give it a rest now …). but everything’s all done and it looks amazing!

Kekec is the ultimate slovenian movie character of our youth. this is a reprint of a poster from the chinese broadcasting in ’56.  and it’s now a brand new addition to my living room. if you hurry you just might still get it here.

tadaaaaaa! če berete tale post, pomeni, da tudi gledate tele fotografije, kar SEVEDA pomeni, da sem končno dobila svoj fotič nazaj. danes je nasploh vesel dan, zato sem ga začinila še z mamino specialiteto – baziliko v oljčnem olju. temu sama pravim ‘shranjevanje poletja v kozarčke za zimske dni’. recept je pravzaprav zelo preprost. nabereš liste bazilike, jih opereš in posušiš na kuhinjski krpi. potem liste zmiksaš in dodaš olivno olje, pomiksaš še enkrat in mešanico pospraviš kozarček. boljše ne more bit!

wiiiiha! if you are reading this post it means you are also looking at these photos, which OF COURSE means i got my camera back. today is a happy day. i celebrated it with my mom’s speciality – basil in olive oil. i call it ‘saving the summer in jars for winter time’. and it’s really easy to make. pick some basil leaves, wash them and let them dry on a tea towel. then blend the leaves with your kitchen blender, add olive oil, blend again and put the mixture in small jars. as good as it gets!

i got a call today from canon tech support. it will take them at least 14 days to fix my camera. apparently some electronic parts broke down. so i decided to do some graphics instead while i’m waiting. this one was done today.
